Devine Mulvey Sweeps the Reed Awards
Best Television Ad in a Statewide Race, Most Daring Tactic, Outstanding Internet

We are proud the judges shared our belief that Big As Texas (winner: Best Television Advertisement for a Statewide Candidate) is a unique and powerful spot that introduces the state of Texas to Gubernatorial candidate Farouk Shami through his remarkable story.
Julian Mulvey, thanked his clients for the opportunity and said, “we’re committed to producing the best spots in America for our clients. It’s terrific to be recognized by such a distinguished panel of judges.”
Judges for the 2010 Reed Awards included: James Carville, Eleanor Clift, Grover Norquist, Christine Pelosi, George Stephanopoulos, Chuck Todd, Christine Todd Whitman, Judy Woodruff, and dozens of other political luminaries.
Also recognized was Devine Mulvey’s web video Gun Show Undercover Praised by the New York Times as a “groundbreaking and compelling” expose, it took home the award for “The Most Daring and Successful Tactic” used in a political advertisement. Working for the City of New York, hidden cameras revealed an astonishing number of private sellers sold guns to investigators who said they could not pass background checks. This viral video has received over 50,000 hits on YouTube and has increased awareness of the gun show loophole. Gun Show Undercover was produced with Arkadi Gerney, and is the second time our firm has received a top award collaborating with him. The first was the 2006 Gold Pollie for Best National Advertisement for “Be A Witness.”
Finally, The Cycle was recognized as the “Best Spot that Could Never Appear on The Airwaves.” Bolstered by the comedic styling of Michael Scott and the rest of the staff of “The Office”, this spot notes the fact that the Pennsylvania Governor’s mansion has switched parties every election for decades, while making a pitch for Scranton Mayor Chris Doherty for the State’s top job.
