Wins Both Party Nominations

Scranton Mayor Chris Doherty took a step closer to claiming a third term on May 19th by winning both the Democratic and Republican primaries. Doherty easily beat Democratic challenger Gary DiBileo, and clinched the Republican nomination beating out businessman Bob Bolus with about 400 write-in votes. Unless challenged by an unlikely third-party or write-in candidate, Doherty will be the first Mayor to receive a third term in Scranton in 45 years. We’re proud to have worked on Mayor Doherty’s media campaign and congratulate him on his primary wins.

Over the last eight years, Doherty has helped rejuvenate Scranton by creating 6,000 new jobs and attracting $500 million dollars of new investment in the city, and Business Week named it one of the best places to raise a family. Focusing his campaign on this momentum, Doherty said that both Democrats and Republicans alike have “embraced our vision; they believe in our values, and (they) trusted in our leadership,” to keep Scranton moving forward.
