DM Makes Florida History Again
This cycle, one of the most watched campaigns in Florida was the Orange County Sheriff’s race. Democrat Jerry Demings had a formidable opponent in former Edgewood Police Chief John Tegg. Through a tough media campaign establishing Jerry as the choice for experience and integrity and casting doubt on Tegg’s record, Demings was able to score a hard-fought victory to become the second African-American Sheriff elected in Florida (the first was Sheriff Nat Glover of Jacksonville, for whom Tad Devine produced media in his historic campaign).
