Victory Fund Shines Light on States Without GLBT Legislators

Washington, DC - May 23, 2005 - The Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund launches its 10 state, 10 month Horizon Campaign on May 26th with online strategy devised with the help of julianmulvey.com.
The campaign is designed to build networks of supporters in states that have no openly gay members in the state legislature.
Beginning in May, the Horizon Campaign will focus on one state each month. “The campaign will provide the organizational tools for Victory Fund members in each state to host network-building house parties, starting in Wyoming,” said Julian Mulvey.
Other states involved in the campaign include: Texas, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, New Jersey, Delaware, Oklahoma, and Mississippi.
“We are thrilled to be assisting the Victory Fund with its ongoing efforts to fight discrimination,” Mulvey said.
In 2004 the Victory Fund endorsed a record 65 qualified GLBT candidates from 27 states and the District of Columbia. 41 were elected.
julianmulvey.com is proud to be providing ongoing web design, advertising strategy, and communications consulting for the Victory Fund. “All political organizations now need a coherent online strategy” said julianmulvey.com’s Michelle Coyle. “We got our start in viral marketing, so it was natural that we’d move on to online strategy - from website redesign to social networking. So if you’re looking for some fresh ideas, we’d love to hear from you!”
