Torture Is Not US
PSA Highlights Need for Anti-Torture Amendment

Washington. DC - November 28, 2004
The Center for American Progress launched the “Torture Is Not US” campaign this week with an online spot produced by Julian Mulvey Group.
Contrasting President Bush’s recent declaration that “We do not torture” with the grim realities of Abu Ghraib, the video highlights the need to establish clear guidelines to outlaw the torture of detainees in US custody as outlined by the McCain Anti-Torture amendment.
The ad premiered Nov. 16th at www.tortureisnotus.org and generated more than 3,000 emails to Congress in support of the amended defense appropriations bill within the first 24 hours.
“Torture Is Not US” is the second public service announcement produced by Julian Mulvey Group for the Center for American Progress. The first ad, “Be a Witness,” can be seen here.
