Attorney General Resigns After Years of Political Pressure
November 10th, 2004 - Attorney General John Ashcroft announced his resignation today after years of political pressure. Ashcroft was dipcted as “Spy-der-man” in a flash animation produced by julianmulvey.com and released by the Alliance for Justice earlier this year, after he shepherded the Patriot Act through Congress in 2001.
The AFJ has evidence that the Patriot Act was used to justify invasive searches of citizens’ private records, and mounted a campaign that called on Ashcroft to resign. And now he has.
