FIRM CHANGES: Talk about having a full plate; Julian Mulvey pulls off a double feature by launching a Democratic media consulting firm and writing an off-Broadway political play.

The firm, julianmulvey.com, began with a primary victory for client Capri Cafaro in Ohio’s 14th Congressional District.

The play, “Rush’s Dream,” began June 11 in New York City and presents the reuniting of parted friends Thomas Jefferson and John Adams through the aid of their mutual friend, Benjamin Rush.

Mulvey previously worked for the Democratic media consulting firm Shrum, Devine, Donilon, on campaigns for U.S. Sens. John Corzine, D-N.J., Mark Dayton, D-Minn., and U.S. Rep. Dick Gephardt, D-Mo.

The julianmulvey.com staff also includes Steve Rabin, a recent graduate of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, Michelle Coyle, a veteran of several Democratic campaigns and Robin Bell, a production manager and visual artist. Clients include Joe Mayer, a former Rochester City Councilman who is the Democratic nominee in Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District, St. Louis County (Mo.) Executive Charlie Dooley, and several nonprofit organizations.

Rush’s Dream” runs at the HERE Arts Center through July 4, which happens to be the day both Adams and Jefferson died in 1826.
